My Ideal Destination: The Moon and outer space.... On Earth, my ideal travel destination would either be Rio de Janeiro to celebrate Carnival, Pamplona to run with the bulls dressed in traditional Basque fashion (red bandana, white clothes), Munich to drink a beer (or five) during Oktoberfest, Cannelle to wear green during Saint Patrick’s Day or Cusco to dance at “Inti Raymi,” a traditional Inca celebration. If I had to choose one, I would go to Peru. My great grandfather first traveled to Lima many years ago and there he fell in love with a beautiful senorita (my great grandmother) and the country. I’ve never been and would love to see the place of my ancestors. I would plan to arrive before June 24th, when the “Inti Raymi” festival starts. While there, not only would I love to hike the sacred valley at Machu Picchu and explore the Inca ruins, but also I would love to catch some rays and surf (or attempt to) at one of Peru's many beaches. Also, I would trek into Peru's Amazon Jungle (with bug spray!) and find some exciting activities (zip-lining anyone?) to get into. Of course I would go out of my way to meet new people, hopefully make lifetime friends and add some new Spanish words to my dictionary. I would want to stay a decent amount of time, because for me, travel isn't about how many places I've gone, but what I did while I was there and the experiences I had.
